PETER FLINT joined Kimco Realty Corporation in November 2014 and is the Director of Development for the Southern Region. He oversees redevelopment, development, entitlement, design, disposition and acquisition matters within the Southern Region, which is comprised of over 130 properties totaling nearly 15 million square feet. Peter joined Kimco to head up the development and entitlement work on Kimco’s signature mixed-use development, Dania Pointe. He is also working on several redevelopment projects in Palm Beach Gardens, Boca Raton and Marathon Florida. In addition, he has managed the disposition of over a dozen assets in 2015 with the help of the New Hyde Park disposition and acquisition team. His projects include everything from ground-up mixed-use developments to major redevelopments of existing shopping centers.
Prior to joining Kimco, Peter spent nearly 15 years with Sembler building numerous ground-up development projects and major shopping center redevelopments. During his nearly 20 years in the Commercial Development Industry, Peter was the driving force on over 70 development and redevelopment projects, including single-tenant assets, grocery-anchored shopping centers and retail-entertainment projects. One of his key strengths is in the entitlement process. Peter has negotiated land swaps and development agreements with local governments, annexed property into neighboring municipalities, rezoned properties and written new zoning regulations.
Peter started his career working for a large regional general contractor and quickly moved to the development side of the business. The majority of his experience is in the Florida and Puerto Rico markets, but he has worked on projects in New York, New Jersey and Georgia. He earned his BA from Wake Forest University and his MBA in Finance from Kennesaw State University.
